I laughed, I cried, I learned Sturm-Liouville theory. ~Sam Dubé
It was clear that Professor Mingarelli deeply enjoyed teaching and interacting with his students. It was a joy to attend his lectures, and I still tell people about his great interludes and childhood stories. His mathematical methods were intuitive and provided a solid base upon which my engineering degree was built. Cheers to a great professor! ~Mitch Kibsey
Happy Birthday, dear professor! All the best! I just could not believe that it was 26 years ago that you took me from China and gave me a new life in this wonderful country! Thank you! ~Ligang Zheng
I had Mingarelli for the first two years of Engineering and his enthusiasm and sometimes down-write crazy nature about math, coffee, and aliens kept me wanting to come back to his classes to here his passion about math and the crazy childhood stories that he sometimes told. He is a Professor that I am not likely to forget. ~Jesse Mahussier
Professor Mingarelli completely changed the way I think about Math. Instead of thinking about integrals, the only thing that I always think about is..."D-box!!!" As a Teaching Assistant under Professor Mingarelli, I saw the same joy that I had (while I was in his class) in all other students' faces and I knew that he still had the same effect that he had on my class. I hope that all students who had or will have Professor Mingarelli will continue to enjoy him as a professor. To Professor Mingarelli: thank you for your guidance as a supervisor, but I thank you always as an amazing professor and teacher of mathematics. I hope that you have a great party and wish you well!! ~Bharat Bhaga
Proff. lei è veramente un bel ragazzo! Sembra un Italiano e , come il buon Rosso Piceno , migliora con l'età.buon compleanno e complimenti alla mamma ! ~Anna Bettarelli
I thank professor Mingarelli because of his excellent supervision on my study at Carleton university. I learned from him how to think about mathematics. To me he is an amazing professor and a great scientist. ~ Sirous Homayouni
Professor Mingarelli-- I would say the best professor, mentor, friend or any way you want to describe him would be less for him. He was someone who helped me gain confidence when I first came to Carleton (i.e. Canada). Moreover, I also felt welcomed by him when he shared his coffee related stories and how it matches with my study habit of drinking coffee. One of his favorite phrase "Think = Coffee" would be something that absolutely makes complete sense and that too in engineering. He is the ideal guy for someone to follow, and on this day I would like to congratulate him the very best on his 60th birthday. Hope to see him around and listen to more of his stories. Happy Birthday Sir ~Chirag Sharma
Went to Mingarelli's MATH 1005 class even though he wasn't my official professor. Loved the class, he helped me get a A+. I'd love to go, this is a wonderful event. ~Eric Labrecque
Angelo, You are truly a wonderful person. I am extremely please to be in a working relationship with you and hopefully to be able to call you a friend. ~ Deborah Jackson
Did your teachers ever think you would end up as a math prof?? Keep on infecting students with your love for mathematics and enjoy 60 more years of such joy! ~ Shirley Mills
I wish that I could make it, but I have a certification exam to write in Hamilton, ON the same day.
Professor Mingarelli was (and still is) a great instructor! I made sure to try and visit any time I returned to Ottawa to see family and friends. Whenever he was available, he was always happy to sit and chat with a former student. I still appreciate the art of M.C. Escher, especially the Devils and Angels print, that he showed during a class of advanced calculus. (Do not ask how I remember, just know I do!) Congratulations Professor! Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary! ~Michel Guenette
